I have created a new style set in Word 2007 to see how the feature works. Now
I need to delete the style set. It appears in the list of style sets that
appears when I click CHange Styles.

How can the new style set be deleted? I cannot find any help in help.

Thanks!

Hi CMC,

If you're lookinng at the Home tab of Word 2007 then in the Styles group (or in the Styles Pane) if you right click on the name of a
Style you can delete its appearance from the Quick Style gallery, but if it was used in the document you'd need to apply a different
style on that text to replace it.

If you added a Style Set then it is stored as a separate Word 2007 .dotx file, by default in your Quickstyles folder.

(for example:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your logon name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Quickstyles )

If, for example, you created a style set named 'Fred', search for a file named Fred.dotx and delete it if you no longer want that
style set.

AHA! Nice one, Bob.
I'm trying to make a small set of style sets so we can have the same styles
(Normal, Body Text, Headings, etc) in a base template, and then a user can
choose which style set should be applied if the doc is being used as a
procedure -v- a formal report -v- other doc type.
Therefore I want the style sets I create to be available to any user of the
document / document template.
I seem to have to have the .dotx style set in MY QuickStyles folder.
I get the impression that I may be able to change a template or something
and that all other docs are base on and then all those documents will be
changed.
(Today I wanted to modify a template and someone had a file open that was
_based on_ the template, and the template was locked - so the document must
be able to write to the template.
I've looked at the help files, but haven't figured out the scope of what I
can do and how to style sets that apply to multilpe docs that can be
influenced from a centralised, governing file.
Also, is it a good idea to and if so, how would I change the existing style
sets instead of making new ones.
Does each new style set have to be saved separately.
This may be detailed somewhere but I couldn't find it in the MS help.
Thanks, Bod.
