I did a search of my computer using the word "firefox" with the purpose of
deleting all files that have anything to do with firefox. The search produced
6 shortcuts. I tried to delete them from the search folder, but got a messege
"Could not find this item. This is no longer in C:\Users\....\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch. Verify the item's location and try again". I can not
find the files on my computer, but the search keeps finding them. Are they
hidden files? How can I delete them?

I am having the same problem, but with other shortcuts. This problem is very
frustrating. Is there no solution?

Err....Rather embarrassing, but I just figured it out. If you're using vista,
do a search for "Indexing Options". Click Indexing Options, click Advanced,
and then click Restore Defaults. Restart your computer. It worked for me, and
all those invalid shortcuts are gone.
