Hello,

How do I completely delete a program? I went to "control panal > add/remove
program>" and highlighted the program that I wanted to delete, then I hit
the remove button, it showed a box saying it is uninstalling and done. I
went to Program File and make sure the file of the program is done. But
howcome when I went back to "add/remove program", the prgram is still listed
on the list. Is there still some files that I didn't delete. Please help.

re-boot and it should disappear.

I did, not working, still there after reboot. Any idea?

Possibly the uninstall routine didn't quite work properly. Two options -
reinstall and uninstall again or a registry hack. (Don't know about
that....unfortunately the XP version of Tweakui has lost the remove programs
function AFAIK)

When you use the Control Panel's Add/Remove facility to delete a
program, you are invoking the uninstall routine that came with that
program (the program's installer put a reference to it into the list
you're looking at). That uninstall routine is supposed to know the
whereabouts of *all* the files and registry entries the install
routine created. It seems that this one forgot at least one registry
entry.

TweakUI has a function to delete items from the Add/Remove list. That
may be what you need right now.

Hi,

I tried many ways, still not working, went into registry editor and deleted
it , still came back. And Tweak UI doesn't have the remove program in it.
Any other ideas? Thanks

David

Perhaps if you mentioned the name of the program, someone who has had the
same problem will chime in with some help. But, if you keep it to yourself,
others can just supply generic advise - that which is "supposed" to work,
but sometimes doesn't.

This really sounds like one of the invasive, "reinstall itself"
type programs that Spybot and Adaware help to remove. Put those
names in Google, get and run the software.

add/remove is still
listed Please

Both Spybot and Adaware not working either. Someone suggested to me to go
into "superwin.com/freeware.htm" and download the "Add-Remove Pro" program
and I finally got rid of it in a click of a button.

Thanks to all thay reply and helped me . Have a nice day!
