Still Learning XP after replacing my PC of W98 vintage.

The C:\ drive on XP contains a few empty folders and a few containing one or
two files - for example, c:\epsonreg contains only epsonreg.exe.

Also on the C:\drive are My Music and a few other uncreatively named
folders I will NEVER use.
How can I tell which of these can be savely deleted or re-referenced in
Regedit as I did in W98?

In general: create a new folder TEST and move the files/folders for
which you want to clarify this into the new folder. If this does not
cause problems, you may delete the data.
The MY MUSIC, MY PICTURES and MY DOCUMENTS folders cannot be deleted,
as Windows will recreate them automatically. You can move the folder
with the Windows Explorer, however. So you may want to move them out
of the way f. e. to somewhere deep in the WINDOWS folder and its
subfolders.
