I am planning on importing all 3 of my 1 hr DV tapes via the DV-AVI choice,
and then go to the source file and deleat the unwanted clips to save memory.
WILL THIS WORK? (I know I could import only the clips I intend to use)

I'm beginning to wonder if we are actually
communicating. And BTW...it's best if you stay
with the original thread...it becomes confusing
to follow when you create several threads with
the same subject.

Here's the deal...you have *3* source files. There
are no clips to delete unless you delete the *3*
source files. The clips that are created in Movie
Maker are independent of the source files.

If you create clips in Movie Maker...you can remove
them from Movie Maker with a right click/delete
but the source files will not be affected.

I suggest that you leave the source files as is until
the project is totally completed.

John, I think I understand now. The source video files ane not in clip form.
WMM2 must make clips from each of the 3 homogeneous source file. I think you
can deleat JPEG pictures form the source file one at a time, is that correct?
Thanks for you responses. I will stay with the thread in the future. I
thought the thread had gotten too cold to respond.

Right...Movie Maker will create clips when you
import the files unless you uncheck "Create
Clips for Video Files".

And you can use the split option to "cut" the
movie anywhere you wish.

Yes, image files can be deleted from the
folder they are saved in. If you delete them
from the Movie Maker interface it only removes
them from Movie Maker.

I suggest that you are careful about what
you delete until your Movie Maker project
is completed.

If your hard drive is so full that you need to
free up space by deleting image files...it
is time for a larger hard drive. I maintain
at least 50% free space on mine.

You're welcome.

I would suggest that you experiment with
the program until you feel comfortable with it.

BTW...we read all the messages...
