Can anybody help me here? I keep getting a "search" site
as my home page when I open IE6. I deleat it, and find
that it appears in my "favorites" list. I deleat it from
there as well. When I re-boot my computer, the page re-
appears from nowhere. I have done a search and cannot
find the page ANYWHERE on my hard drive. It must be
disguised as something else. Can I get this pesky page
to disappear forever?

First you must delete this line in the registry if you have it.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"sys"="regedit /s sys.reg"

Then you can definitely delete the file sys.reg.

Then is suggest you see what else is in your computer.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

Thanks Henri,

That's a lot for me to figure out, but I will try
anything. You've been great. Thanks again.

Sorry, but HOW do you do this. I've tried. Do you do
this from the RUN command or DOS?
