Delays in Outlook...

Outlook 2000 is running very slow when I click on the pull-down menus and
when I click on messages to open them.

It takes an average of 10-15 seconds before a menu will drop or a message
will open.

I'm running Windows XP Home edition; AMD 1.7mhz processor; 512 megs of RAM

Outlook did not always perform this slow. Any idea what the problem is?
Is there some delay or some other setting that I need to edit in the
registry?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
D.

Locate outcmd.dat and rename it to outcmd.old. When you now start Outlook
all the Toolbars will be reset. If this doesn't work you can rename
outcmd.old back to outcmd.dat to get your custumized Toolbars back.

Thanks!
That worked great and Outlook opens faster too.
Thanks again,

Another question is how did my OUTCMD.DAT get so large?
It was 3.2 megabytes but after renaming it starting Outlook again, it is
only 3k.

Played around with customizing the Toolbars or upgraded Outlook and did not
recreate the mail profile? These could make the outcmd.dat larger. Also
every program that holds Office/Outlook integration will increase the file
size.
