I have a Lexmark X73 printer. It worked fine on my last
computer win 98se. I just got a dell pent. 4 2.66mhz
hyperthreading computer, 1gb memory. The printer was
working for a short time, then quit, tried the new XP
drivers, printer will work but when tring to print
something it will take 20 to 25 minutes even if even a
small amount of text, but it will print it out eventually.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times even cleaned
out all the old printer drivers from previous install.
Checked all the spool settings, print spooler is running.
Thanks Richard e-mail (e-mail address removed)

To be honest, it's probably Lexmark's own drivers that are the culprit. I
bought an X63, then discovered that the drivers wouldn't even /install/ that
I initially downloaded from the net, they were looking for a mysterious
drive W:... once they at least managed to get those right, the drivers
installed, but rebooting the PC or temporarily disconnecting the printer's
USB lead at any point (as you do now and then) resulted in the printer
refusing to function.

I realise this doesn't help you, but I wanted you to know you weren't the
only one suffering with Lexmark {:v( On the flipside, I have a friend who
has an X75(?) on XP and it works just fine!
