Every time I open Internet Explorer I have to wait for 10
seconds vafore anything happens, could any one help me to
solve this??? thanks!!

I have the very same problem. It only started when I
installed the new XP service pack 2. Now I am starting
to hate even trying to browse the web.
Probably shouldn't say this but.....What has Microsoft
done to slow things down so?

Ditto here. A few people with this problem. Mine sits for about 20 seconds
after I click the icon....NOTHING happens. If I bring up Task Mgr I don't
even see any CPU activity. Then after 20 seconds the CPU spikes and IE 6
loads and runs normally. If I reboot the problem is solved....for a while.

I also installed SP2, then unintstalled as my VPN didn't work.

First eliminate any scumware.
CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Shame on me Frank. I'm at IT consultant who lectures others about this all
the time. Just did a scan with AdAware SE and it removed several registry
entries. Problem solved.

I take it back. I claimed victory too soon. After I reboot IE6 starts
normally for a day or so. Then it's back to the 20 second delay. During
that 20 seconds, there is not spike in CPU activity....just nothing.

This machine is as free from spyware as can be...although I know enough to
know you can never be positive. I run AdAware all the time, CW Shreddeer
always comes up clean. HiJackThis shows nothing funny at all.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I would appreciate any/all suggestions/feedback how to resolve this. thanks
in advance!

I've been trying for weeks to access a web site (http://www.elmomc.com/)
that I can get to from outside of my home network but not at home..

I am using Comcast DSL, I several workstations and non can access this site.
Although, if i take one of those workstation somewhere else, it gets the
site. I've called comcast and they're unable to say why this is happending.
I did a tracert and this is what i see..
