There is an annoying characteristic of my Win2K installation:
If I access a file with an application, then quit the application, I'm
limited for some minutes on what I can do with that file afterwards.
- for example, I can open a compressed file with winzip (or winrar),
close winzip and try to move the file somewhere else and windows
refuses saying the file is in use.
- or, in another case, I can change the ID3 tag of an mp3 with DrTag,
close DrTag, then try to play the file in Media Player and Media
Player says it can't open it.
In each case, if I wait a while (a few minutes) the files become
accessible again. The problem seems to be independent of the
application used to initially open the file but rather seems to be a
problem of Windows being tardy about releasing the file.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
