delay in transitions due to video

I have a 5 second delay (with hour-glass cursor) when I change slides that
have just played a video clip. It doesn't happen with the slides that don't
have videos. I've tried turning "graphic acceleration" both on and off.

Thanks for the help!

Richard

what is the file size of the video clip?

could you make the very next slide something really simple, and set it to
automatically advance after 0 seconds. That may give powerpoint less to
think about after the video

Thanks TAJ,

They are very short clips, and some, but not all have to be after eachother.
What do you mean by "set it to automatically advance after 0 seconds"?
Where is that done? I'm running a manually operated show.

Thanks!

What do you mean by "set it to automatically advance after 0 seconds"?
Create a slide right after the video
go to the slideshow menu and choose "slide transition"
set this to 'appear' and to advance automatically after 0 seconds.

That way powerpoint will display the 'blank' slide for 0 seconds.
And I imagine that while the video is playing, powerpoint is getting the
next 'event' ready. Your next event is this simple blank slide, so
powerpoint has less to think about.

Let me know how you get on.
