Delay in boot sequence

I have noticed a delay of a few extra seconds in
the bootup.
I have WinXP Home. Updated on a regular basis.
My computer is a recent one, with an AMD processor.

I made a boot log and found 17 pages of failed attempts
to load drivers, in between several drivers were loaded.
The final couple of pages were successful attempts to load.

There are so many drivers, but as an example, I have
noticed that it tried many times to load "WAN Miniport (LTP2)",
and three similar for IP, PPPOE, and PPTP.
These don't seem to have been successfully loaded.

I have a broadband connection.

I have never made a bootlog before, so I don't know if there
is anything here wrong.

I have a fully updated Norton 2003 AV and Norton Internet Security.
I have just completed a full AV scan, with nothing found.

One of my clients just installed Norton Internet security
and had the same problem. We tried hard, but couldn't get
it to work correctly, so we ended up uninstalling it and
returning it. You may want to do the same - it doesn't
seem to be a stable product yet and doesn't work well with
even common internet connection configurations. Stick
with just the Norton Antivirus which works very well.

Just my opinion
