degrading windows xp pro to window 2000 pro

Dear Sir,

pls be kind enough to assist me on the following matter

where i would like to know whether i could degrade windows
xp professional to windows 2000 professional and whether i
could use the same xp license for win 2000 pro and is it
legal, this is for some IBM computer systems that come
with pre loaded xp professional, where we need these
machines with win 2000 professional.

please be kind enough to give a feed back asap.

I don't know about the lincese but the way to install W2K
Pro is to format as it is impossible to DEGRADE on windows
