How do I defragment my floppy drive? The only thing that comes up when I click on the defragment icon, is the hard drive.

You can't de-frag something that doesn't have anything on it!

Since the disks are so small, it's not worthwhile to spend time
defragmenting a floppy disk. Instead, remove all contents:
Copy files from the floppy to the hard drive. When you're sure they have
copied correctly, delete them from the floppy disk.
Then select all of those transferred files. Use Shift or Ctrl in
conjunction with the mouse to select multiple files. (See Help and Support
for more info if you are not familiar with how to do this.)
Copy the files back to the floppy disk by right clicking on the selected
group and selecting Send To> A: -or- drag and drop them onto the icon for
the floppy drive. Since the files are all being written in one fell swoop,
there will be little to no fragmentation.
Once the files have been copied back to the floppy, delete the hard drive
copies made earlier (if they are no longer needed).
It has taken longer to write this than it will for you to do these steps.

In XP diskeeper doesn't defrag diskettes, even on my
other computer running 98se with diskeeper 7. However
Norton speedisk does defrag diskettes on 98se as does the
original 98se defrag. I don't have speedisk set up on the
XP machine to confirm it works with XP, though it might.
