Defragmentation

My defragmentation is not working??
I recieve message saying to run CHKDSK or SCANDISK on (C:)
then try again,but don,t know how to do that!!HELP!!
 
Hi Anne,

Start/run cmd

Run "chkdsk C: /r"

You will be prompted to dismount the drive, but as the drive is in use you
cannot. You will then be prompted to schedule the chkdsk to be run upon a
system restart - follow the prompts, then reboot.

Go to the start the my computor click one than right
click to see a dialog box go the the bottom it it is
saying propertie click it it will bring you to and
another dialog box check tabs to see one that will give a
pick of three choices pick defrag and follow instruction
it is good to do this one a week if you work a lot with
your pc ok!!!!!!!!
