Ever since I upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP (Home
Edition), I haven't been able to run Defrag. Every, time
I try, my system crashes and re-boots. Anyone solved this
problem?

Before defragging your drive, you should perform the following:

1. Perform a DISK CLEANUP
(Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup)

2. Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter. In the Command
Prompt window type: CHKDSK /F , and hit enter, answer "yes" and
reboot your computer.

3. Afterward, perform a DEFRAG of your hard drive.

Selden,

The only thing that can crash Windows is a hardware issue or a driver
problem.

I would first suggest that you boot into Safe Mode and try to defrag from
there. If you are able to and afterwards you still get crashes when booting
normally and try to defrag, then I would suspect a driver issue.
