One HDD, 4 partitions. C (sys) NTFS, D Fat32. E and F are NTFS, since
FAT32 was not available. Whenever I defrag D is goes so very slow and
actually never completes.

Any ideas why I can not defrag D and why I can not format E and F in FAT32?

All partitions no errors.

Tks,
Paul

I hav tried and given up on defraging of D many times. This time I left
it over night and much of today. Over 14 hours and it was still not
complete and the status bar was empty. So, I sent in the above Email for
help. Then, I looked at the degrag and it said D complete. After all
this and I finally ask for help and Viola, its done.

Why take so long? And I still do not kno why I cant format E and F is FAT32.

XP does not allow for creating Fat32 partitions over 32 gigs!

Even though the cluster size is poor...so such partitions may not be a great
idea...
Microsoft (in it's wisdom) has now decided that Fat32 partitions over 32
gigs are not allowed.

Of course...if you do want to create a larger such partitions by using a 3rd
party utility...
XP will at least recognize it

Thanks
FAT32?
