Defrag needed weekly

Any guess why a system would need to be dfragged once a week? File
fragmentation goes from 2% to 35% in a few days. The volume is on a
RAID 5 composed of 4 drives, but I think I can rule out hardware
trouble because the RAID Bios test passed, and other volumes on the
same RAID are not exhibiting any symptoms. Any help greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

John

John,

If free space is scattered all over the place, then the file system will
re-fragment quickly as there is no place to create new files contiguously.

Move whatever you have that writes small files that are
frequently deleted to another partion like Internet
Explorer, Temp, Downloads etc.
