Nate

I installed a new Western Digital 60 gig hard drive.
EIDE. Since then, it has been "restrating" everytime I
would go to defrag or analyize that drive. I reformated,
installed windows 98, it it worked no problem. On the
old hard drive, a Maxtor 2 gig, it would defrag no
problem also. I also have another Maxtor 12 gig as a
slave, and it defrags no problem. Even Norton speed
disk, would do the same thing. I tried this with &
without Norton installed, no difference.

I even tried going into the MY COMPUTER advanced
properties for the startup & recovery fix, only this time
instead of the computer restating, I got a big blue error
screen. Oh yeah, XP Pro.

Nate,

The only thing that can cause Windows to crash is a hardware issue or a
driver issue. Please configure Windows to NOT immediately reboot and when
it next crashes, let us know what the STOP code is and what driver is
indicated as causing the crash.
