Defrag huge problem

Hi I have run defrag from Microsoft Windows XP and twice
I ve ruined my hard disk....a technician told me its
because the hard drive was too large (40gig) and that
hard drives over 40 gig should not be defragged as they
are ruined. Is this correct?

No it is not correct,I have an 80 gig H/D and diskeeper

automatically defrags it every 2 or 3 days,2 years later
it is still running fine.Most techs. from the MFG. help
desk have no clue to what they are doing.
 
I think this tech is trying to sell you a new HD. There are several
defragers on the market. The one built into XP should do the job for you.
