I did a defrag today in Safe mode. I got the report at the end that everything went OK.
Tried to reboot to go into XP Home as normal, I only have 1 HD od 120GB size. My PC narmally only boots to HD0, but it seemed to look for the floppy, thed cd1, cd2 and I think it tried to boot from network.
I booted up againg using XP CD and tried fixboot from the recovery consoul and same problem. In recovery consoul using dos I can view all files in my HD so presume that there is a problem with bootloader, I start to get a bit out my depth here. I also tried a clean install and was told that the disk was of an unnamed ( may have been unsuported or something ) and would have to be deleted before a new install is able to be done.
I would prefer not to do a delete then install as I would like to try and solve this as I am sure it is a simple fix, I just don;t know how.
Any help or advice would be very welcome
