definition updates

I can not get it to update manually or on a schedule. It
keeps telling me that it can not detect an internet
connection. All builds have done this. What can I do?
 
Are you using AOL 9.0 Security Edition SE?

I have McAfee Security Center, but I tried turning it
off/disabling it and no matter what I do, it does not seem
to make a difference. I have plenty of other programs that
update fine, this is the only one that does not.
 
I'm afraid I don't know enough about the McAfee product you have to suggest
how to tell whether it is at fault--I would look carefully at any logs it
keeps--particularly for any firewall functionality.
