There are not new definitions, but the routing (or whatever it was) issue
which prevented some users from connecting to the definition servers over the
last few days has been resolved, I believe.

Let us know here if you are still having trouble.

Connects but signatures are dated Dec. 8, 2005

Since yesterday I have been able to connect and the program says I have the latest signatures but the status page says the signatures are as of Dec. 8, 2005. Is there anyway I can check the actual dates of the signatures in the program?

Thanks.

That's not encouraging--it would be interesting to see a tracert result to
www.spynet.com. I think.

(there's a command line tracert in Windows--drop to a command line, and do

tracert www.spynet.com >file.txt

Then notepad file.txt and copy and paste the result into a message on this
board.

(And no need to really do this unless you are curious--there might also be a
confidentiality issue in terms of the Gov network--don't know!) I'm going to
make another inquiry to see if I can at least alert Microsoft that things
still appear to be broken for some users.

I think that's a good idea; bear in mind that I had no network security
issues using that network connection to download MSAS, and run the initial
update. It's only a week later when I connected it again that I couldn't
connect to check for updates.

Have updated the signatures

This morning I once again tried to update the signatures, which had not been updated since Dec. 8. To my surprise they did update!

Last Definitions are Dec. 16th?

The title says it all. MASpyware says the definitions are up to date when I check for updates but the date of my definitions is Dec. 16th. Is this the most recent set of definitions? It has been this way all of this week. I have tried to update each day this week but I get the same result.

Hi!
Bill
I'm checking for daily,autoupdater is currently active,last defs.I receive
vers.5785/16.12.2005 is it the last one?

Yes - historically, definitions have been approximately weekly, often on a
Thursday.

Last week seems to have been a holiday.

Yep - you are in good shape. I'd expect new defs this Thursday evening, in
my time zone.
