Definition Update 1.14.1410.10 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597) The
update keeps showing that I have not installed it when I know that I have.

Pedro:
Because of a Microsoft issue in the Defender automatic updates, some
Defenders do not update the Version every week. The update has to be done
following the instructions in KB 915105 Resolution, that you can read at:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915105

The Resolution recommends that you remove the old Defender signature file,
so you can install the new. This is done as follows:
Click Start, click Run and copy the following and then click OK;

Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

After this is done, update Defender using the Windows Updates, or use the
Defender Help options, About Windows Defender and Check for Updates (and wait
for the second time icon popup).

THANKS EFRAIN

Have you followed KB 918355? Does it help, is it lacking in areas?

Steve:
As you ask me, your KB918355 is great but only for a technical person. Maybe
you tried to summarize all Defender issues into one document. Big mistake.
Simple is beautiful, the shorter the better, see your own KB915105 as an
example of simplicity. People avoid reading complicated and extensive
documents, that tells you to go some plece, then anothet, then aother, at
infinitum. All I know is from your KB articles, but I pass on your same info
in just a few words. See what I did with PEDRO.
Your friend,
Efrain
