Defeneder Integration with AntiVirus

Does the Windows Defender can be extended by Anti-Virus manufactures in a way
that ‎single scan (i.e. Local hard drive) can check both for spyware and
viruses?‎
‎(Avoid the system load require the run both scans one after another)‎

Offhand I don't believe so. The link below shows how to access newsgroups
for Defender where it is best to post questions about it and my guess is
that Microsoft is actively monitoring and helping with questions. --- Steve
