On my second hard drive, I am accumalating many new folders (13 so far) that
I have no idea what they represent. Some are empty but other have files in
them such as:
MpSigStub
mpasdlta.vdm
As_Delta
I don't know if they represent malware or are files from Microsoft. A search
on Google suggests they might be from Windows Defender but I cannot find
anything conclusive.
My computer is running licensed copies of Vista Ultimate, Office 2007 with
OPutlook 2007. Defender has the latest updates installed.
If I've accumulated 13 folders now, how many more am I likely to get? Can
anyone tell me if these files and/or folders are safe or should I delete them?
Thanks.
Steve

I bet if they are from defender, it will probably recreate them...might try
playing a round a lttle and rename a couple of them to see what happens.
for example change MpSigStub
to MpSigStub.old
most likely it will recreate if they are necessary ( or give you an error
message) as it won't be able to find them.
if you deem them necessary just remove the .old and your back where you
started.
