Have had problems since the first of march loading defender. will get to the
point of installing and halt. machine is alive but can't cancel the install.
have to abort the task. after that, almost impossible to re-boot the
machine. anyone else with similar problems??

I've seen a handful of users that need to disable real-time protection by
their antivirus application in order to get the program installed. This may
be worth trying in your case.
