Defender updates

I've installed

Definition Update 1.14.1459.12 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597)

13 times over the past week, from WindowsUpdate, from Windows Defender, and
from the QuickLaunch "nag" popup. Each time it says it is successful but no
dates are changed and reopening of any of the programs says it would like to
update again.

What up?

So far, I don't think I've seen a single negative report.

There are "issues" with updating at present. Microsoft is (really!)
working hard at fixing these, and there is a KB article to give guideance
