Defender reminder?

Last couple of days WD has popped up in the tray. When I click on it, it
tells me that I have not run it for 8 days! But it runs everyday and checks
for updates too. Looking at the text, it reads that in fact I haven't run it
in 8 days!
Question: Do I need to uninstall WD and reinstall or is there some "GOOD"
reason why this happens?

Happy New Year one and all.......

Hello Elmwood Boy, welcome back.

Do you have Windows Defender checked in CCleaner Applications Utilities?

Note: uncheck Windows Defender in the Applications.

For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pºst.

I hope this post is helpful.

I am not disagreeing with your answer, Engel, however, I have CCleaner on two
home pc's and the Windows Defender box is checked in CCleaner Application
utilities on both - with NO problem with Windows Defender such as Elmwood Boy
described. I wonder why I am not having the same problem. I run CCleaner

Hi JohnB,

Interesting your outcome, As we've seen with the cleaning of Defender
history and consequent loss of the Defenders last scan information, as
implemented in CCleaner v1.30.310

Maybe E-Boy, can test this.

One thing I should have included - both pc's have WD automatic scanning
enabled daily - one at 9am and one at 4pm. WD Updates are usually done
automatically also.

Good day Engel
I have v1.36.430 and you were absolutely Right! Soon as I run CCleaner, WD
screws up. No more check marks for WD in CCleaner. Once again you have come
to my aid! And once again "ThankYou".

Happy New year!
E-Boy.......

Might be the version of CCleaner?

CCleaner
on these pc's at shutdown every night - and sometimes during the morning
and
afternoon. ???

Excellent! Thanks for posting the details--and I hope you've validated
Engel's messages. Now I wonder why your experience and that of John Burns
differ?
