defender hangs

I run my full system scan and the scan hangs at the same place every time.
IT says it is still scanning but it hangs and doesn't progress. What can I
do?

Also try chkdsk.
This MSkb explains chkdsk and I believe if you use switches it will repair
your faults.

or

chkdsk volume:/r

It can be bad sectors but I belive the /f switch solves it.
