defender error outbreak

I have about 20 out of 50 PCs running XPsp2 getting the below error

Application failed to initialize OX800106ba. A problem caused Window
Defender Service to Stop.

started since 2007.

any clues, not much in NGs yet.

Defender program. This is not one of them.
