Defender could not start

My version of defender has been running faultless for about a month and now
on pc start up I get an error message saying defender could not start. When I
try to open it from the start menu, I get the same message.

The first day this happened, I also noticed that the system clock had
changed to the year 2165, maybe a coincidence?

Has anyone got any ideas??

Cheers
Elliot

Beta 2 of Windows Defender has a time bomb in it, I bet that's what you're
hititng. Coming back to today for system time should fix.

Thanks for trying Windows Defender,
Joe

Joe, Thanks for answering, but unforunatley I had already re-set the date,
but this could have triggered the time-bomb, I will try re-installing to see
if this cures the problem, I'll re-post either way.

Thanks

I've seen one other post showing an error message indicating a time bomb
issue--in that case, the user had inadvertently set the system to a rather
old date.

Were you successful with the reinstall?
