I have a few startup programs whenDefender starts that keep saying
"unclassified" How do I classify them so they are permitted?
One is Nuance PDF Converter

Thanks, SoozyQ

Hello SoozyQ

In WD go to Tools and scroll down to `Real Time protection Options`and
there you will find `Choose if WD should notify you about` ...... two
options. Check mark the option you would prefer. In your instance I would
think the first .........

As for classifying software. You cannot do this directly but by joining the
MS Spynet community. Tools/Microsoft Spynet. This is a free service.

Thanks so much, Stu, I unchecked 1st. Should I also add program to ignore
box, as another person suggested in another forum? And if something isn't
classified and running, isn't it bad to just ignore some things?

Hello SoozyQ

The ignore box is more for scanning situations i.e. when you decide to do a
specific scan. Yes, it may be regarded by some as being unwise to ignore
unclassified software but depends upon how well you know your computer and
trust the software you have installed. If you know and trust it as being from
a reliable source you could always tell WD to `Always Allow` when it is
tagged. In this way WD will add it to the allowed list.
