Defender can't remove WhenU, MS Antispyware could!

I used to have MS Antispyware and everytime I installed BearShare, it would
remove the WhenU spyware. I upgraded (?) to Defender, and it keeps telling me
everyday that it's there, and when I try to remove it, it fails, and gives
the error: "Windows Defender encountered an error: 0x80501001. One or more
actions could not be completed successfully." Why could one product do it and
not the newer one?

The object that's detected is part of an archive file. Windows Defender,
presently, won't just delete an archive file because one file in it is
bad--you could lose, for example, a zip backup of a machine.

So--in a sense, this is an improvement over Microsoft Antispyware.
Practically speaking, it is a problem, however, and I don't think we are
seeing the final behavior.
