It seems that defender delays opening of attachments.
This did not happen with MSAS Beta 1.
There is a few seconds delay then if not malicious (I suppose) it will allow
the attachment to open.
Anyone else notice this and is there a way to speed things up??
Aside from that, it seems to run nicely.....
It did pick-up a few things quickly that I "planted" there to test it.

Hi Waxace,

You're absolutely right. This is part of the improved real-time protection
in Windows Defender. You can turn it off by turning off the "Internet
Explorer Downloads" agent in RTP, but I don't recommend it. In our testing,
this checkpoint does a great job of keeping a machine clean. What files
specifically did you notice slowdowns on?

Thanks for trying Windows Defender,
Joe

Joe,
What I did notice it slowdown during opening of .eml attachments (Basic
E-Mail), note that most people have no clue how to pass on e-mails and foward
everyones fowards...
Also if there was a link attached...sometimes, not always.
For the most part, I am quite satisfied with the program and have no
intention of shutting down the IED agent. Seems that you will someday
develop a way to make it work a little faster.
I have quite a bit of protection on my system but still keep it running
quite fast just by using many programs (On demand, not running)to clean-up
different sections of my drives. This I am sure is a big key to running a
clean and virus/trojan free system.
Defender is just another good tool in my arsenal.
