DEFECT - Allerts "fly by" when Windows toolbar is docked right

Brian

When my Windows toolbar is docked on the right-side of the
desktop, I am unable to read the Security Alert message
windows. The problem is they move from the right-bottom of
the screen to the right-top of the screen until they are
no longer visible. Not only do I not get to read the
alert, but I am unable to respond to "ACcept" or "Block"
the action as I am not fast enought to click the buttons
as the window flies by.

To reproduce, simply dock you windows tooldbar on the
right of the desktop...

I rather suspect you mean the "taskbar". The toolbar is
the one at the top of an open window. I've seen many
complain of this "fast" window display and yet mine is
displayed for at least ten seconds, giving me enough time
to read it over at least 4 times and to click where and if
needed. I'd be interested to see if this is a result of a
certain type of CPU or it's speed. Mine is an Athlon
Thunderbird 1.2Ghz. TTFN.

I keep my toolbar docked on the left and have seen this
problem as well.

On my P4 1.6 Laptop the message flys by so fast I could
never tell what it was. After using the AntiSpyware tool
on some other machines I finally realized what it was.

It's a minor display issue but a big problem that needs
to be addressed.

Mine (taskbar I think you mean) is on the left side and I am having the
same problem. I have an icon that takes me to a customized DOS prompt
(command.com) and MS Spyware is blocking it. It goes by so fast I'm not
sure what it's saying, but I saw something about a malicious script or
something like that. I have to disable the software to get to DOS.
On another subject, I made a post in here last night about whether
running MS AntiSpyware in one administrator's account will cover ALL the
user accounts. I checked back and the post appeared. But today it is gone.
Wonder what happened there?

What tool are you using to view the groups--HTTP or NNTP (web or
email-related?) This could be a settings issue,(hide messages already
viewed) or it could be a server-end issue. The servers--and there may be
separate servers for HTTP and NNTP, are not single machines, and there can
be synchronization issues.

If you look again at a different time, you may connect to a different server
and see the missing message again.

Nope... not that. I always clear all the read messages so they'll show
up again. My last post (that you just replied to) didn't show up till
tonight and you had already replied to it...

That may be it.

I post regulary in the microsoft.public newsgroups and have never had a
problem. I used to post in the microsoft.private.xpsp2.general and it
worked there OK too, although I notice there's always a delay in posting or
the private server.
Oh well... this one may make it....
