can someone let me know what are default values for this key on advanced
win2k server with SP4. It is also running cluster service if that has
anything to do with this. Also, if I make the changes to this key, would
curent control set 1 change to these settings too? If not do i need to
change the other currentcontrolsets to the same value??

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\sessionmanager\subsystem
s

entry=Windows

Thank you, George

My machine is not clustered, but this is the value on my 2000 Advanced
Server with SP4:

%SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows
SharedSection=1024,3072,512,512 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows
ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3
ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off

Hi George,

Thanks for your posting here.

The registry value on my Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SP4 is same as
Tim's.

In addition, I found the related information on the following article. It
seems to be for desktop heap.

PRB: User32.dll or Kernel32.dll Fails to Initialize
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=184802

Have a nice day!
