Long ago, File Manager always showed info. about files.

Now it is necessary to go to View/Details, and View/Explorer bar/Folders. Is
it possible to select this view as Default? Setting 'Show all folders like
this one' doesn't work.

Also long ago, if I left Windows Explorer at a particular display and closed
down, it would return to the same display. Not any more. Can that too be
made a default setting?

I am running W2K Pro (OEM) SP3 with IE6 SP1 - and yes, I had trouble with
SP4-818529 update - had to go back to SP3.

Yours sincerely, -

Theo Tulley.

Hi Theo,

Windows 2000 just works like what you want. Please open Windows Explorer,
click Tools, Folder Options, then View tab, check Advanced settings and
select Remember each folders' view settings.

I don't have ideas about sp4 error.

Hi, Theo.
I'm copying this to you, but sending to the group. My experience is that
replies to sender often bounce.

And well they should bounce!

Netiquette frowns on email responses to newsgroup posts unless email is
specifically invited or the subject veers from the topic of the newsgroup.
Email can't benefit more than the two people involved. Newsgroup posts can
benefit many readers. Also, if you get wrong or incomplete advice in email,
you're stuck with it; in a newsgroup, other readers can spot the error or
omission and correct it.

So, please, keep the discussion here in the NG. In a newsgroup, we all
learn from each other.
