Default view of calender in Outlook 2003

When I am in the five day-view, I point to a day in a different week and the
calendar shows this work week. When I'm in the month view, it switches to the
particular day.
As I often need to schedule tasks ahead for long periods, I would like
Outlook always to be in the month view . Is this possible? and how?

Not if you click a particular date in the Date Navigator (the little
calendar in the Navigation Pane). If you select a day, you'll get a day
view. If you click just to the left of a week, you'll get the "7 Week"
view.
