Set your photo folder to thumbnails. Change the tiles to thumbnails by
clicking on the view icon on the top bar and select thumbnails.
Once done, close the folder. Right click on it and click on Properties.
Click on the Customize tab. Select Pictures or Photo Album and check the box
"Also apply ..."
The default should now be thumbnails.
