Greetings,

Every time I fire up a session of IE6, the text size defaults to
"Smaller". Is there a way to set this so it defaults to something else,
so that every time I fire up a session, I don't have to go View | Text
Size | Medium?

PS it would be nice to have it default to Medium since it affects the
Help files in MS office, among other things.

Do you change it to, e.g., Medium only to find it reset back to Smaller when
you open a new IE window or reboot?

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee
VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Here's something else about NAV that you may not be aware of:

Yes, perzacktly.

Aha...give that man a cheroot. We use Spybot *and* McAfee. *But* Spybot
wasn't throwing me any of those nasty little registry change warnings.
In fact, I have it turned off right now and I'm still seeing the same
behavior.

Anybody know the registry tweak to set IE's default text size? Maybe
I'll just edit it manually.

Thanks but we're on McAfee here. But thanks for the overall reply
nonetheless.

Were you running Spybot Tea Timer? Have you disabled it now?

Have you looked into similar "protections" enabled by McAfee VirusScan?

[LOVE the screen name!]
