New Windows Explorer windows seem to have a default size of 800x600. Is
there are way to change this to, say 800x1024?

Property bags (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags\n\Shell)
seem to control all view settings, including window size amd position, of
windows that have been opened and closed). However, I am concerned about
setting the default size for new windows.

Folder Options, View, Apply to All Folders sets a {GUID} value under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams for certain
types of windows (Folders, My Computer, Control Panel, etc.) - this key
apparently contains data that serve as defaults for new windows for column
details and view type, but not window size.

Explorer\Streams\Settings seems to have data for view type only, and applies
where neither a property bag or a {GUID} value applies.

Thanks,
MR

Drag one window to the desired size with the mouse and then press CTRL
while you close it. You may have to re-do this for some windows until
the setting is used in all cases.

Thanks for your suggestion. Sorry it took a couple of days to answer.

Your suggestion works, but it seems that getting a window to open at the
desired size has to be done one window at a time, and requires opening it
(at the default 800x600 size), closing it, navigating up one level in the
folder tree and then re-opening it (at the desired size)

I am hoping there is a way to change the default 800x600 size for new
windows.
