Frequently, I browse Internet, but the web page change my default search or
home page to other web page. I need to remove them from registry manualy. If
I set the security Level to high, I cannot visit many pages. Even I enabled
PCCillin 2002 firewall, it does not help.

How Can I protect my registry?

Control access. Lock down IE using Security Zones and options. This
is an IE/OE issue for another group.

Maintain updated A-virus and or other Anti-* tools.

Detect and correct. Various anti- spyware and adware and BHO tools.
Such as Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy for example. Also
outside this group

Some utilities to monitor registry changes are available. Both
"snapshot" compare tools and active monitors. Some to be found at
http://lists.gpick.com/pages/Registry_Tools.htm

One "protection" method for the registry is to make full backups of
it periodically so that any massive changes can be rolled back to a
"clean" version. Full registry backups can be made using
ntbackup.exe in the OS or by third-party tools such as ERUNT.

Depending on the User Account and area of the registry, registry
permissions (ACLs) might be used to restrict certain keys. I don't
see this "protection" mechanism as too useful for BHOs or other
writing to HKCU.
