Default printer resets upon shutdown

Every time I shut down the computer, the default printer is reset to a fax
driver. This is on a system I use at work and they can't figure out what's
causing it. It runs XP and is on a network. There is also something set up
where if we go to another system some of our information (called a profile)
will go with us as to not cause problems if we have to switch workstations.
