Default printer issue?

Hi,

One of my users is having trouble setting the default printer on her
computer. She can set the default and it works until she reboots the
computer at which time the default is set back to the Microsoft Office
Document Image Writer. Any ideas why this is happening and how to correct
it? My first reaction is that it's a problem with her profile but other
settings are being retained so I'm not so sure.

This is a Windows XP based laptop in our domain and all the printers are
networked printers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Windows XP likes to feel secure... it needs to find a printer... and will
choose the first it finds as the default. In the time it takes the User to
logon to the domain, it's finding the Office Document Writer and chooses
that one, it's only when she's joined the domain that the other one(s)
become available. If you deleted the Office Document Writer, then the only
one that would be found is the one she wants - the one on the network.
