Default printer changes itself

I have a system with Windows XP SP2 that keeps switching the default printer
by itself. It happens every time you shut down and occassionaly throughout
the day if the system is inactive.

I have looked through the Knowledgebase but I can't find anything right
offhand regarding this problem. I suggest you post to the WindowsXP
print_fax newsgroup as that is where the Printing experts reside.

I believe this problem is a combinational one.
A possible solution is to uninstall both printers, then reinstall in a
specific order.
Unfortunately, I don't remember if the first installed or next installed is
the printer reverted to.
Another issue can be interaction between printer monitor modules. Disabling
them may help.
