Is there a way of setting the default size of pictures imported into 'my
pictures' using scanner & camera wizard? They used to import as 'medium'
(720x576) but now import as 'small' (360x288), the camera's the same. Suspect
something in SP2 has changed this.

You are transferring the images how? From the camera? There's nothing in
the wizard that would change the resolution of the images. Are you sure
the default size hasn't been changed in the camera?

I've been using the same camera for the past 3 years downloading pictures
several times a week into 'my picture' folder. The settings have not changed
(there are no settings for the downloading of image size in the camera).
I can get round this problem by using the 'resize picture' facility (right
clicking on the picture) but need to do this everytime I download. I never
needed to do this before!

I agree with Raymond that your camera settings
may require an adjustment. Sometimes the settings
can be accidentally changed. Just as an experiment...
take a minute to check your camera settings for
*image size*.

What kind of camera (make/model)? I don't want to be rude but you're not
making much sense. Describe exactly what used to happen, and what
happens now. BTW, I wasn't suggesting that there was were settings for
changing image size when you "download" them--almost all digital cameras
allow you to *save* the images at different resolutions when you take them.

The camera is a NV-DS1B Panasonic digital video camera with the ability to
take up to 720 x 7sec still shots as well as motion. Connected to a PC (IEEE
1394 compliant), plug-n-play recognises the camera and suggests programs to
open (what do you want windows to do) screen, I use the wizard. Playing the
tape from the beginning in the wizard enables me to capture a still or moving
snapshot picture to my pictures folder. That's always been the procedure.
I have studied the operating instructions for the camera and cannot find
anything that changes the image size (other than taking widescreen or cinema
shots, which is turned off).

Now you tell us it's a video camera.

If you increase the size of the view window...
it may increase the size of the capture. At
least it works that way when I capture from
DVDs.

Is there a way to change the default resolution for the scanner wizard... it
automatically picks 150dpi and that's too small a file for what I typically
use the images for.
