Hi, I'm trying to change the default share permission on Windows 2000. In
Windows XP I had no problem doing it using TweakUI. I know that in XP, the
registry key
HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\DefaultSecurity\srvsvcDefaultShareInfo
is created and keep the Default Share permission I assigned. Moving the key
on a machine that is also running Windows XP does the trick but it won't work
for a machine running Windows 2000.

Is there a tool to change those default share permission for Windows 2000 ?

Any ideas ?

windows 2000/xp default share permissions are changed via the ACL under
properties respectively...Remember a distinction must be made between share
permissions and acl security permissions. Not sure why one would have to
dive into the registry for this...
