How do you add yahoo or hotmail or another Web based email client as your
default in Vista. I know how in XP but can't figure it out in Vista.

Windows mail wont work with hotmail. For yahoo, you have to subscribe to
yahoo plus to use pop access with it.

I don't want pop access. On XP you could make the yahoo or hotmail the web
client can be made the default.

Opps, Sorry I misunderstood. If you type default in your search bar in the
start menu, it should list a program called defaults. Maybe you can do it in
there?

That doesn't work either, Yahoo mail doesn't show up as one of the program
options to make as default. Only windows mail shows.

Yahoo Mail is not a program. I don't know of any way to make
the MailTo protocol work with web mail.
I don't recall being able to do this with Windows XP either.

In XP, you had to install Yahoo Messenger completely and then you were able
to choose Yahoo Mail as your default. If you didn't do a complete install of
Messenger, it didn't show up as an option for mail default. I haven't
received any info back from Yahoo regarding a fix so I was hoping someone
here could help (please!!!)

Has anyone tried to install Yahoo Messenger under Vista?
I have no interest in web mail or IM, so I won't try.
