I am trying to set the default line settings in power point. I now know how
to set it if the program is already oppened, I am trying to set it so when I
open the program up it stays that way. Right now they reset every time I
close the program.

right now the color is blue, I want it to be black and with an arrow at the
end point.

You're using PPT 2007, right?

In previous versions, you'd do this on the blank slide and save a new, blank
template.

In PPT 2007, I'm not sure this will work. PPT 2007 uses the Office theme as
its default, but that theme doesn't actually exist on the system, and (my
understanding, anyway) is that it cannot be changed.

So what I'd do is set the default line on a new, blank slide, delete the
line, then save the file as a new theme -- File | Save As, choose Office
Theme (THMX) and name it, say, FIPP.THMX

Then I'd right-click that theme in the gallery on the Design tab and choose
"set as default theme."

I think that will do it.

still works with blank.potx in Powerpoint 2007. I created a new blank
presentation and made my default settings (color of line, fonts and so on).
Then I "Saved as: potx" and named it "Blank.potx". Next time Powerpoint
starts with this blank.potx and uses my defaults.

Sweet! Thanks, Pia!

Thanks Pia. I've added that gem here:

I'm fiddling around in 2007 for updating my German homepage. 400 pages -
umpff! But it's testing time, too. This tip was buried somewhere in
Onenote - but thanks to the wonderful Search it could be found easily.

Pia - You use OneNote too!!! So glad to hear this. Maybe someday some of the
others here will realize how great it is for keeping and finding things for
repeated posts... :)

Yes I do! I couldn't handle my paper index cards any more. And I love to
have OneNote on my smartphone, on my laptop and on the desktop-computer.
They are all synchronized and it's easy to find information. Even sitting in
a train, far away from my office.
